New Delhi, 26 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the ESI scheme of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), 20.74 lakh new employees have been registered in August. The new registrations under the scheme include around 9.89 lakh young employees in the age group of 25 years, while 4.14 lakh female employees have been registered.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment said in a statement issued on Saturday that 20.74 lakh new employees have been registered under the ESI scheme in August. At the same time, 28,917 new establishments have been registered under this scheme. According to the data released by the ministry, the new registrations include about 9.89 lakh youth workers up to 25 years of age. During this period, 4.14 lakh women employees were registered in the ESI scheme.
The ministry said that the provisional payroll data of ESIC shows that 20.74 lakh new employees have been added in the month of August, thereby ensuring social security to more workers. Apart from this, net registration during the month of August has increased by 6.80 percent on annual basis. A total of 60 transgender employees have also registered during this period.
The Union Labor and Employment Ministry has said in a statement that the payroll data is provisional, as the collection of data continues continuously.
