New Delhi, 30 September (Hindustan Times). From Tuesday 1st October, two new rules of TRAI related to call drops and unwanted calls will come into effect. It is being claimed that after the implementation of these rules, telecom services will be better than before. Due to these new rules, not only will unwanted calls be stopped, the problem of call drops will also end.
According to the information received in this regard, after the implementation of the new rules, it will become easier for the customers to know which services are being provided by the telecom companies in which area. Now all telecom companies will have to clearly mention on their website which services they are providing in which area. In the system till now, customers had to face a lot of difficulties in finding out the availability of network and existing telecom services in a particular area.
It is being told that the new rule will become mandatory for all telecom companies including Jio, Vi and Airtel from tomorrow. When this happens, customers will be able to choose their preferred network or company as per their needs.
Provisions have also been made in the new rules to stop unwanted messages. According to the new rules, only those companies which have been included in the white list will be able to send messages. If this happens, unwanted messages sent by unknown companies can be easily stopped. So far, about 3,000 companies have been included in the white list.
However, after the implementation of the new rules, some experts are also apprehensive that the new white list rule may affect the OTP service. If the company sending OTP to the customer is not included in the white list, then his message will not come on the phone. However, it is being claimed that most of the companies involved in essential services including banking have been included in the white list. Along with this, the customer can give permission to send messages to the companies as per his need. Therefore, there should be no problem with OTP due to the new rules.
