2 lakh bhakris were prepared for the devotees on the occasion of Srirangadas Swamiji.

Mumbai – Mahaprasad of two lakh bhakri and 35 thousand liters of amti (sour thin pulses) was given to the devotees during the celebration of the death anniversary of Sri Rangdas Swami in Ane village of Junnar taluk of Ahalyanagar (Ahmednagar) district at the beginning of the new year.

This tradition of Mahaprasad on the occasion of the death anniversary of Shri Rangdas Swami has been going on for 138 years in Ane village. Hundreds of women together made more than two lakh bhakris. Whereas 35 thousand liters of Amti was prepared in 70 jumbo pots. Swamiji’s devotees from various villages of the state including Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik took advantage of the Mahaprasad. Donors provided spices worth Rs 10 lakh for Aamti.

Donors queue up to get the benefit of being a Mahaprasad donor. Shrirangdas Swami Devasthan President Madhukar Data and woman Priyanka Data said that advance booking has been done as donors of Mahaprasad till the year 2034.
