2 diet plans are more effective than medicine in diabetes? Research revealed this

It is very important for diabetic patients to control sugar. The question of their quality of life depends on this. Therefore, they have to take medicines on time to prevent sugar from increasing or decreasing.

But according to a recent study, the 5:2 diet plan designed by Dr. Michael Mosley is considered more beneficial than medicine. So if you want to control diabetes without medicine, then you need to know this diet plan once again.

What is this 5:2 diet plan
The 5:2 diet plan is similar to intermittent fasting. It involves not eating anything for five consecutive days and reducing calories by 500-600 for two consecutive days. The theory behind the diet is that after a day of restricted calories, the body starts using energy produced from food to burn fat.

JAMA Network Open Journal According to a report published in Beneficial for Diabetes, following this type of diet plan can help with glycemic control as well as weight loss.

Better results than medicine?
A study of 405 adults found that following the 5:2 diet plan resulted in better glycemic control (blood glucose levels) than metformin and empagliflozin. This makes it a good drug option for type 2 diabetics.

Effect seen in three months
Researchers reported that diabetics who followed the 5:2 diet showed a significant reduction in average HbA1c blood sugar over three months. In addition, their waist and thigh fat also decreased.
