Why were 2.5 crore Aadhar cards stopped?

According to UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar, making the Aadhaar database error-free is a priority for the government. Following are the main reasons for deactivation of Aadhaar card:

Incomplete Data: Biometric or demographic information in many Aadhaar cards was found to be incomplete or doubtful.

10 year old record: Cards which have been made for more than 10 years and have not had a ‘document update’ even once are now on the radar.
