Cooch Behar, 06 August (HS). The BSF is keeping a strict vigil to ensure that the unrest in neighbouring country Bangladesh does not affect West Bengal. The state police is also active. The central government has sealed the Changrabandha border in Cooch Behar. 190 truck drivers who had gone to Bangladesh were brought to India through the Changrabandha border on Monday evening.
It is noteworthy that the import-export of products with Bangladesh was stopped since Monday morning. In the evening, 190 truck drivers were brought back to India from Bangladesh. But some truck drivers are still stranded there. Many Bangladeshi truck drivers are also stranded in India. Additional Superintendent of Police of Cooch Behar Sanatan Garai confirmed that the truck drivers were brought back to India.
Meanwhile, there is tight security on the India-Bangladesh border. From Changrabandha in the north to Hili in the south to Sandeshkhali, there is tight vigil everywhere. The Indian Army is active on the Petrapole border. There is also strict surveillance on the Chapra border of Nadia.
