Araria, 18 May (Hindustan Reporter). A case has been registered against hundreds of unknown people in connection with the vandalism, arson and attack on police that took place on Friday after the suicide of brother-in-law and sister-in-law in police custody at Tarabari police station. Police have so far arrested 19 accused in the case. CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify the remaining accused. Raids are being conducted by the police to identify and arrest other accused on the basis of CCTV footage. .
A case has been registered in Tarabari police station under sections 147,148,149,341,323,324,326,307,332,333,307,354 (B),379,427,436,353,504,506 of Indian Penal Code and 27 Arms Act. Raids at various locations to arrest Still working.
Giving information, SP Amit Ranjan said that angry people pelted stones at Tarabad police station and fired dozens of rounds from illegal firearms. A thatched hut built in the police station premises was set on fire. Four government vehicles were damaged, in which four policemen including Sadar SDPO Rampukar Singh were injured. All the injured police officers and soldiers were treated in the government hospital.
Five shells fired from illegal firearms were recovered from the spot. Police fired five rounds in the air for self-defense. The SP said that the other accused involved in the incident would be arrested soon.
