17 lakh 12 thousand 20 voters for five assembly constituencies of Palamu, gender ratio increased | News India

Palamu, August 27 (HS). The final publication of voter list for five assembly constituencies of the district was done on Tuesday. There are 17 lakh 12 thousand 20 voters. The gender ratio has increased this year. The number of women voters is 8 lakh 83 thousand 10, while the number of male voters is 8 lakh 29 thousand 8. At the time of Lok Sabha elections, the total number of voters was 17 lakh 15 thousand 83. There are two third gender voters. As per the final electoral roll, it is 939. Earlier it was 933. The election population ratio is 652. Earlier it was 653.

Giving information regarding the publication of the voter list, District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan said that the final publication of the voter list was done under the special summary revision program of the voter list in view of the Assembly elections 2024. He has urged all the voters to check their names in the voter list.

He said that due to the large number of security personnel in the assembly elections, booth shifting is almost negligible. Out of the 9 booths shifted in the Lok Sabha elections, voting did not take place at two booths.

DEO told that the number of PWDs voters is 36 thousand 442, in which the number of men is 20 thousand 78 and the number of women is 16 thousand 364. Between 25 July and 27 August many reports related to registration, deletion and correction came, in which the number of newly registered voters is 15 thousand 238, in which the number of women is 11 thousand 531, while the number of men is 3 thousand 707. The number of registered voters in the age group of 18-19 is 2 thousand 612, in which the number of women is 1 thousand 680 and the number of men is 932.

The number of deleted voters is 6 thousand 412. The reasons for deletion are death, permanent shifting to another place, repeat and other reasons. 991 have died, 3 thousand 741 have shifted to another place. Names of 810 have been repeated and 870 names have been deleted from the voter list due to other reasons. 16 thousand 174 have been corrected under Form 8.

Identity cards were given to 20 BLOs

DEO informed that Salute to BLO campaign is being run with the aim of honouring all BLOs. Under this, on the occasion of final publication of voter list, BLOs of all assembly constituencies are being provided BLO identity cards from the level of Cabinet (Election) Department Ranchi. Today, 20 BLOs were given identity cards. All BLOs will wear them while performing their work. Other decisions are being taken at the department level to encourage BLOs.

Jharkhand election quiz begins, first prize is 50 thousand

Jharkhand Election Quiz 2024 has been started from 16th August under SVEEP for voter awareness. Online quiz will be held on 29th September. Offline quiz (for selected candidates) will be held in Ranchi on 5th October. First prize has been fixed at Rs. 50 thousand, while second prize will be Rs. 30 thousand and third prize will be Rs. 20 thousand. One topper from each district will get Rs. 10 thousand.
