Dehradun/Rudraprayag, 05 March (HS). On Tuesday, the SDRF team safely rescued a 15-member tourist group trapped by falling trees on the Chopta road and smoothened the road by cutting trees.
According to the police, Ukhimath Police SDRF was informed that a 15-member tourist group was trapped due to heavy snow on the Chopta road. On this, SDRF Inspector Karan Singh along with the team immediately left for the spot with necessary rescue equipment. Taking immediate action at the spot, all 15 tourists were reached and everyone was safely taken out of the snow area. The tree that had fallen on the route was cut with the help of rescue equipment, the road was made smooth and all the passengers were taken to a safe place. All 15 tourists had gone to Chopta route and stayed in the resort. Due to sudden bad weather there was snow due to which all the passengers got stuck.
