Bihar Sharif, 11 September (HS). Police raided a private house located near Amber Chowk under Bihar police station in Nalanda district and seized a large quantity of foreign liquor and 14 gamblers who were gambling and sent them to the Divisional Jail Bihar Sharif for judicial investigation.
Giving information on Wednesday, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Bihar Sharif Sadar, Nurul Haq said that Bihar Police Station Head Samrat Deepak had received secret information in the morning that in a private house located at Amber Chowk, where a school used to be run earlier, illegal liquor has been stored and drunkards and gamblers keep gathering there.
Acting on the information received, a police team was formed. The team reached the spot and cordoned off the house. During the raid, some people started running away, but the police chased and caught them. While searching the house, 5 sealed boxes and 1 open box of liquor were found in a room on the eastern side of the ground floor. There were a total of 6 boxes of 40 tetra packs of 180 ml Royal Special Premium Whiskey. 28 boxes (each 180 ml × 48 bottles) of liquor were recovered from the second room. A total of 292.32 liters of foreign liquor was recovered. Also, 13 gamblers were caught gambling in the back room of the house, from whom a total of Rs 2,84,000 cash was recovered. In the raid, the police recovered a total of 292.32 liters of foreign liquor, Rs 2,88,000 cash, a deck of 10 cards, 14 Android mobiles, and 9 bikes.
