Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the state, a total of illegal materials and cash worth Rs 135.70 crore have been seized. At the same time, a total of 24 FIRs have been registered so far in case of model code of conduct violation. The process of taking action against them as per rules is going on.
He was holding a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurva on Saturday. He said that the Commission is constantly maintaining vigil regarding fair, free and fear-free voting. Under this, the process of depositing state licensed weapons is going on. At present there are 16,696 arms licenses in the state, out of which 13,634 arms have been deposited. At the same time, 40 licenses have been blocked. 487 licenses have been canceled and deposits have been made and 1,354 license holders have been exempted from making deposits after their applications.
Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said that the process of transmission of 44,015 service voters has been completed in the state. There are 28,471 service voters in the first phase of elections and 15,544 service voters in the second phase. He told that preparations for home voting are going on. At the same time, the process of postal voting for Voters on Election Duty will start from November 4.
