Gandhinagar: Upcoming dates across Gujarat. 136 Rath Yatras of Lord Jagannath and 73 other processions on July 7 and Ashadhi Bija, a total of 209 Yatras have been organised.
Giving information in this regard, state government spokesperson minister Rishikesh Patel said that this year the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will be held in Ahmedabad city, which is the biggest Rath Yatra of Gujarat. Lakhs of devotees are coming to Ahmedabad Rath Yatra to see Lord Jagannath, so keeping in mind their safety and the security arrangements of the Rath Yatra, all the preparations are being finalized by the state government.
He said that the state government has made all preparations including tight police arrangements to ensure that the Rath Yatra is conducted in an atmosphere of peace and security in the entire state including Ahmedabad city. Strict police deployment has been done in the sensitive areas of the Rath Yatra route. Apart from the sensitive area, the entire route of the Rath Yatra will be constantly monitored through CCTV cameras installed under the Vishwas Project and Smart City Project.
To ensure peace and security in the Rath Yatra, monitoring will be done using drone-based camera systems and body-worn camera systems to the maximum. Adequate police force has been deployed to run the Rath Yatra smoothly. Along with this, teams of SRPF, Home Guard, GRD and TRB have been deployed. Apart from this, a meeting has also been planned with the Peace Committee and Mohalla Committee and representatives and volunteers of various religions will be present to help the police during the Rath Yatra.
