13,025 people booked under CrPC on May 21 |Live Updates,Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Lucknow, 22 May (HS). Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh Navdeep Rinwa said on Wednesday that on May 21, the police took action under CrPC and arrested 13,025 people. Apart from this, 33 weapons and 35 cartridges without license were recovered and seized. Raids were conducted on 80 centers manufacturing illegal weapons.

He informed that for intensive investigation, 464 inter-state check posts and 1730 check posts are operated within the state. From March 16 to May 21, the police seized 537 licensed weapons from criminal persons. Licenses of 4765 licensed arms have been canceled and deposited.

Similarly, 26,33,453 people have been banned by taking preventive action under CrPC due to fear of breach of peace. Apart from this, 9830 unlicensed weapons, 9916 cartridges, 3099.32 kg explosives and 581 bombs have been recovered and seized. Police has raided 5008 centers manufacturing illegal weapons and seized 186 centers.
