he sold his agricultural land
Sanjeev Suryavanshi looked very emotional after Vaibhav’s IPL auction. He said that he had sold his agricultural land to fulfill his 10-year-old son’s dream of playing cricket. But perhaps father Sanjeev would not have even imagined that his son would create history in just three years.

Vaibhav became the youngest cricketer to be bought by a franchise when Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 1.10 crore at the age of 13 years and eight months (13 years 243 days) on the second and final day of the IPL mega auction in Dada.

He is now the son of entire Bihar.

Sanjeev Suryavanshi has agricultural land in his native village Motipur, 15 km from Samastipur city of Bihar. Sanjeev said, ‘Now he is not just my son, but the son of entire Bihar.’ Vaibhav is currently in Dubai for the Under-19 Asia Cup.

Recalling the troubled days, he said, “My son has worked hard. At the age of 8, he excelled in the Under-16 District Trials. I used to take him to Samastipur for cricket coaching and then bring him back.

Clarification given on age dispute

When asked about the controversy over Vaibhav’s real age, many people believe that he is 15 years old. So the father immediately clarified that when he was eight and a half years old, he had undergone BCCI’s bone test for the first time. He has also played Under-19 for India before. We are not afraid of anyone. He is ready to undergo the ‘age test’ again.

Vaibhav was fond of cricket since childhood. Vaibhav was born in Motipur of Samastipur district. His father Sanjeev Vaibhav started net practice from the age of five. For this, Vaibhav’s father had installed a trap in the house. After this Vaibhav took admission in the Cricket Academy of Samastipur. After this, Vaibhav took training from Manish Ojha at Jesus Academy, Patna.

Many thanks to BCA Chairman

Meanwhile, Sanjeev thanked Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Rakesh Tiwari. He said that he has always helped in Vaibhav’s journey.
