Varanasi, 03 March (HS). A demand was made at the Women's Rights Conference on Sunday to fight the Lok Sabha elections on real issues like food, clothing, shelter, education, health, security and social justice, instead of temple-mosque and hate issues.

Women officials associated with leftist social organizations, Congress, AISA, AIPWA, Samajwadi Mahila Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party released their 13-point women's manifesto in the conference organized at Shastri Ghat in Kachari. Through the conference, a demand was made to the government that our security should be ensured without any compromise in women's freedom. Also, Vishakha guidelines should be implemented in all institutions.

Women speakers said that women should unite for the right to equality, respect, security and employment. Violence and hatred are continuously increasing in the society. Violence has always been anti-women. Even after 75 years of independence, half the population is struggling for their proper representation. Our demand is that 50 percent reservation for women should be ensured in Parliament, state assemblies and all government jobs. Also, respectable employment should be included among the fundamental rights.

Kamayani of Jan Jagran Adhikar Manch, social activist Ritu, National Secretary of AIPWA Prof. were present as speakers in the conference. Sudha Chaudhary, Gandhian activist Manimala, former president of UP Mahila Congress Pratibha Atal Pal, National Vice President of Samajwadi Mahila Sabha Neha Yadav, Mohini of Aam Aadmi Party etc. expressed their views.
