In a tragic incident that took place on Wednesday near the Mumbai coast in Maharashtra, a speed boat of the Navy and a boat named Neelkamal collided. 13 people died in this accident, while 101 people were rescued safely. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave information about this tragic incident.

The Chief Minister said that the dead included 10 civilians and three Navy personnel. The incident occurred around 4 pm on Wednesday, when the Nilkamal ferry was heading towards Elephanta Island. The cause of the accident is said to be loss of control of the Navy’s speed boat.
Navy’s speed boat trial
The engine of the Navy’s speed boat was on trial at the time of the incident. According to reports, the boat’s new engine was recently installed. Due to a technical fault in the engine, the boat went out of control and collided with the Neelkamal boat.
There were six people on board the navy boat, including two navy personnel and four members of the engine supply firm. 10 civilians and three naval personnel lost their lives in this collision.
