Mirzapur, July 10 (HS). Mirzapur Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar said that in view of rain water harvesting, works of the permissible category are being done with special attention under the Catch the Rain campaign. A total of 237 works were selected for silt cleaning of ponds. Out of these, 44 have been completed and 126 works are in progress, which will be completed soon.
He informed that a total of 205 works of farm pond were selected. Out of these, 30 have been completed and 64 works are in progress. A total of 821 works of rain water harvesting were selected, out of which 92 have been completed and 336 works are in progress. A total of 137 works of embankment construction were selected, out of which 28 have been completed and 67 works are in progress. A total of 520 works of drain silt cleaning were selected, out of which 155 have been completed and 228 works are in progress.
He informed that a total of 1143 works of soakpit and recharge pit were selected out of which 158 have been completed and 264 works are in progress. Apart from this, works related to trench and plantation are also being done. Progress is being ensured in relation to the selected works. Till now a total of 15.94355 lakh man days have been created under MNREGA in the district and Rs. 37.563 crore has been paid to the workers.
