122nd festival of Mata Nanda-Sunanda begins in the city of Mata Nayana | News India

Nainital, September 11 (HS). The 122nd Nanda Devi Festival has begun. On the Ashtami of Bhadrapad month i.e. Nandashtami, the beautiful natural-mountain-shaped idols of Mata Nanda-Sunanda have been installed in the pavilion set up in the temple of Mata Naina, and have been giving darshan to their devotees since Wednesday morning. This sequence of darshan will continue till the immersion of the idols in Naini Lake on September 15. During this, Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri also reached the pandal in the morning and had darshan of Mata Nanda-Sunanda and as Nainital is her maternal home, she shared memories of this place from her childhood and congratulated and wished everyone for the festival.

For Nanda Devi Mahotsav, the doors of Mata were opened on Wednesday morning in the Brahma Muhurta at around 4 AM in pleasant weather, while about an hour before that, that is, from around 3 AM, the devotees started gathering outside the pandal of Mata Nanda-Sunanda and Bhajan Kirtan started from 3:30 AM. Then as soon as Maa Nanda-Sunanda, who showers unwavering faith and devotion in the people, appeared in the 'natural mountain form' from the sacred banana trees, the entire atmosphere echoed with the cheers of the devotees. During this time, Sarovarnagari echoed with the cheers of 'Bolo Nanda-Sunanda Maiya ki Jai'. Acharya Bhagwati Prasad Joshi performed all the Puja rituals and also performed special Puja-Archana of the female devotees who reached first.

During this time, lakhs of devotees from the city and the surrounding villages were feeling blessed today and were feeling that their wishes had been fulfilled after a long wait of the last one year. Along with this, they were taking religious-spiritual energy in the form of Shakti from Shakti Swaroopa Mata Nanda for the resolutions and goals of their life.

During this time, along with the officials of the organizing body Shri Ram Sevak Sabha, scouts-guides and police personnel were also busy making arrangements. Sabha President Manoj Sah, General Secretary Jagdish Bawadi, former President Mukesh Joshi, Vimal Chaudhary, Dr. Lalit Tiwari, Naveen Pandey and Harish Rana along with many officials, members and workers were also present in the organization of the festival.
