12 electric workers received state level award | News India

Raipur, 20 August (HS). Chairman P. Dayanand (IAS) awarded 12 electricity workers for their excellent work in Chhattisgarh State Power Company. These include electricity workers who restored electricity by risking their lives during storms and in the dark of night, and also workers who saved water in the generation plant with their wisdom. P. Dayanand also awarded them medals and certificates along with cash prizes. Managing Directors R.K. Shukla, S.K. Katiyar, Bhim Singh Kanwar and Executive Director Human Resources Ashok Kumar Verma, Additional Chief Engineer Vinod Kumar Agarwal were present in the decoration ceremony organized at the headquarters today on Tuesday.

Jainendra Kumar Gaikwad, Superintending Engineer (Madwa) of Generation Company was awarded for unprecedented reduction in consumption by disposal of 5.17 lakh metric tonnes of wet ash and recovery of 25.93 lakh litres of water as a result of construction of third slurry line. Alok Ratna Saxena, Executive Engineer (Korba) was honoured for his excellent work in saving Unit 2 from possible tripping by charging the panel of Unit No. 2 in the power house.

Praveen Kumar Shukla, Assistant Engineer (Bhilai) of Transmission Company was awarded for his excellent work in installation, testing and energization of 220 kV substations at Bemetara and Rajnandgaon and 132 kV substation at Dhamtari. Bhojram Sahu, Attendant Category-II (Raipur) was awarded for his excellent work in dismantling and erection of the tower of 132 kV Bhanupratapur-Pankhajur line in difficult conditions and restoring power supply smoothly in a short time.

Distribution Company's Premlal Sahu, Testing Assistant Category-I (Raipur) was felicitated for repairing more than 25 poles of 33 KV, 11 KV and saving the people from financial loss of about Rs. 32 lakh 78 thousand. Mr. Sahu also did a remarkable job of repairing the power transformer of Khairkhunt substation amidst storm and rain on the night of 19th July. Mahesh Kumar Jaiswal, Junior Engineer (Champa) was rewarded for reducing the rate of transformer failure of the distribution centre from 12 percent to 1 percent and for maintaining the power line effectively.

Similarly, at the central office level, six employees were honored for their excellent work. Generation Company's Avnish Joshi, Executive Engineer, was awarded for his excellent work in bringing unit number-2 of Gangrel Hydroelectric Power Station back into operation and testing the installed protection and electrical system and removing the flaws. Prakash Prasad Sharma, Section Officer, under the Bank and Finance Manager Office, was awarded for his excellent work in completing bank related works on time.

Om Prakash, Assistant Engineer (Bhilai) of Transmission Company was awarded for completing the work of erection, wiring, testing and commissioning of new 3×105 MVA transformer in a short time. M Srinu, Office Assistant Category-II, was awarded for providing equipment and materials required in construction and maintenance of ultra high tension lines and substations and completing it in a short time.

KK Srivastava, Executive Engineer of Distribution Company was awarded for earning revenue of crores of rupees for the company by selling surplus electricity during 2023-24. Mukesh Kumar Paikara, Office Assistant Category-III was awarded for timely processing of salary bills of officers and employees and personal information of officers despite the posts of Section Officer and Office Assistants being vacant in the office. The program was conducted by Additional General Manager Umesh Kumar Mishra.
