According to a report prepared by a private logistics firm, the country's e-commerce gross merchandise value in the October to December period will be $12 billion, which will be 23 percent more than the same period last year.
Artificial intelligence-based shopping recommendations and social media promotions are influencing consumers this year, especially in fashion and beauty products.
The number of goods and services sold through e-commerce in the period October to December 2023 was $9.70 billion.
These sales are expected to increase due to increased demand for fashion, beauty, personal care and electronic goods.
Due to increasing digital usage in tier II and III cities, sales through e-commerce are increasing here.
The report also estimates that 60 percent of total e-commerce orders will be seen in cities outside Tier 1 cities.
