12.20 km long bridge will be built on Brahmaputra river, CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma performed Bhoomi Pujan

CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma said a portion of the bridge will also have a raised corridor to avoid damaging the wetland at the Sulkuchi end. He said, “This bridge will bring a revolutionary change between the northern and southern banks of the Brahmaputra river and the people living there. I hope that one day there will be a bridge over the Brahmaputra River in every district through which this river passes.” Along with this he highlighted various ongoing projects and also presented the proposed projects to increase connectivity to different parts on the main river. CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma said that the return of peace in the last 10 years has boosted the development of the state, people from other states are also appreciating the development of Assam and attracting investments on a large scale. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma urged the MLAs to work with vision and dedication for the development of their constituencies, which will further accelerate the state’s development story. In this regard, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has made a post on ‘X’. The post read, “Sharma today laid the foundation stone of the Palasbari-Sulakuchi bridge over the Brahmaputra river in Kamrup district, the foundation stone of which was laid by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, 2023.
