The Pakistan army said in a statement that the raid, based on IB inputs, was launched in response to a roadside bomb blast in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan on Sunday, in which seven Pakistan army soldiers were killed. An army statement said the operation is still underway to eliminate other terrorists found in the area and security forces are fully committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism in Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif's tough attitude
Seven soldiers including a captain were killed in a terrorist attack in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. On Sunday, terrorists attacked a convoy coming to Sarband post in Lakki Marwat district. After this terrorist attack, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wrote on the social media platform X that I am very shocked by the death of Pakistani army soldiers including a captain in the terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat district. He said that the sacrifice of our brave soldiers and civilians is a debt on us. The price of which we will have to pay by eliminating terrorism from our own country.
No one took responsibility for the attack
No one has claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack. However, Pakistan blames the Taliban, known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, is an ally of the Afghan Taliban. Pakistani officials often accuse Afghanistan's Taliban rulers of harboring TTD fighters. However, leaders in the Afghan capital, Kabul, have repeatedly denied the charge.
