The national flag can be hoisted at home also

We should fly the national flag 365 days a year at home and office, (retd) Major General Ashim Kohli said at the installation ceremony of the 108-feet tall national flag at the war memorial at the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad. , The Supreme Court's decision came in January 2004 after a 10-year legal battle led by Naveen Jindal. After this decision, we got the right to hoist our national flag every day. On this, Flag Foundation has started the campaign 'Tricolor every day, Tricolor in every house'. I appeal to you to hoist the national flag at your home every day.

Naveen Jindal's case regarding national flag

The Supreme Court of India upheld a decision that the Indian Constitution, and particularly the fundamental right to freedom of expression, protects the right to fly the national flag. Naveen Jindal, a factory director, filed the petition after he was told that he was not allowed to hoist the national flag as per the Indian National Flag Code. The court argued that the right to fly the flag can be considered an expression of loyalty and pride towards one's nation. However, the Court noted that this right may be subject to certain reasonable statutory restrictions.
