Bihar Government Bill against Paper Leak: Nitish Kumar's government is going to take a big step in the ongoing assembly session in Bihar. In which the Bihar government is going to bring a bill against paper leak and manipulation in the state. This bill will be presented in the assembly on Wednesday itself. In which provision has also been made for strict legal action against the criminals involved in paper leak or manipulation.
What are the main provisions of the bill?
To prevent paper leak and manipulation, the Nitish Kumar government will introduce the Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill 2024 in the assembly today. The bill provides that those involved in paper leak or any related activity will be convicted under this Act. Also, the culprits will be punished with up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. All crimes under this Act will be cognizable and non-bailable.
The central government has also made a law
Earlier, the central government has also implemented the Anti Paper Leak Act in the country to prevent paper leak. This law has been named Public Examination Act 2024 i.e. Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. Those found guilty of paper leak can face a jail term of three years to 10 years and a fine of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
This law has been implemented in UP as well
The Yogi government has recently approved the introduction of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Ordinance 2024. Under this, if found guilty of paper leak, the punishment will be from 2 years to life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore.
