10 years imprisonment for raping a minor

Firozabad, April 9 (Hindustan Reporter) On Tuesday, the court sentenced the person found guilty of kidnapping and raping a minor to 10 years and the person who helped in abducting the girl to five years of imprisonment. Fine was also imposed on both of them. If they do not pay the fine, they will have to face additional punishment.

A student resident of the police station North area had gone to study in a school in Bodhashram on 29 November 2019. After that she did not return home. When the family members searched for him, it was found that Shivam alias Shimma, son of Rakesh, resident of Lalpur and Mangal Singh, son of Dharmendra, resident of Kabir Nagar, Kheda police station, North Bahala, had lured him away.

The father filed a case against both of them in the police station. The police registered a case and investigated. The police recovered the girl.

After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet in the court against Shivam, Mangal Singh and Kantilal son of Niranjan, Haranbas police station Jawa Aligarh.

The case proceeded in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Special Judge POCSO Act Court Number 1 Awadhesh Kumar. Special Public Prosecutor Awadhesh Bhardwaj, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that many witnesses testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court. On the basis of testimony and evidence, the court found Shivam guilty under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act and Mangal guilty of abducting the girl. The court has sentenced Shivam to 10 years imprisonment. A fine of Rs 49 thousand has been imposed on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to face imprisonment of eight months.

Mangal has been sentenced to five years imprisonment. A fine of nine thousand rupees was imposed on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of one month.
