New Delhi: Seven children died in a fire at a private children's hospital in Vivek Vihar, Delhi. The fire that broke out at 11.30 pm in Baby Care Hospital later spread to other parts of the building. As soon as the fire broke out, 16 vehicles from the fire station were deployed to douse the fire. Initial investigation has revealed that there were oxygen cylinders in the two-storey building, some of which exploded. Due to which the entire building caught fire. Heavy damage was caused when the fire broke out.
Banks and shops around the hospital also suffered heavy damage due to the fire and explosion. A fire station official said that a hospital, two boutiques, a bank and a part of a shop were also affected in this incident. In this entire incident, seven children died in the hospital. Due to which President Draupadi Murmu expressed grief and paid tribute. At the same time, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that whoever is responsible for this entire incident will not be spared and strict action will be taken. People living around the hospital claim that illegal oxygen cylinders are being filled in the hospital, local resident Mukesh Bansal said that we had complained to the administration in this matter but no action was taken. Seeing the dangerous situation, we had to stay at a distance. On the other hand, Delhi Police has arrested the hospital owner Naveen Keechi.
