10 lakh tourists will participate in Dev Diwali festival, Ganga bank will be decorated with 17 lakh lamps

Varanasi, 09 November (HS). This time Dev Diwali in Kashi will be celebrated on 15th November. On the occasion of the great festival, both the banks of Ganga will be decorated with 17 lakh lamps. In this, 12 lakh lamps will be lit by the district administration and five lakh lamps will be lit by the Ganga committees. District Magistrate S Rajalingam gave this information to journalists on Saturday.

He told that preparations for Dev Diwali have been completed. Nodal officers will be appointed to light the lamps by dividing the ghats into clusters. He told that laser show will be organized at Ganga Gate and Chet Singh Ghat of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. There will be green fireworks across the Ganga. This time more than 10 lakh tourists are expected to attend the Dev Diwali festival. The main program of the festival will be held at Namoghat. It also includes cultural programs.

The District Magistrate said that the American dance group will perform a special dance on the banks of Ganga, which will be led by Sujata Menjomari, who presents a unique blend of Kathak and ballet. This ballet dance group will present a dance based on Shiva Mahima. Which will become a center of attraction for foreign tourists. Additionally, artists associated with Indian Idol and Prince Dance Group will also perform music. Shulagana Banerjee, who came from Kolkata, will also perform Kathak dance. Before this, Ganga Mahotsav will be organized at Assi Ghat from 12-14 November. In which various participants along with local artists of Varanasi will present cultural programs. The District Magistrate said that special arrangements are being made on the occasion of Dev Diwali festival. Special lighting will be done at Babatpur Airport, major intersections and government buildings, so that a festive atmosphere can be seen in Kashi. This year's Dev Diwali Mahotsav will not only enhance the glory of Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture, but will also present a unique cultural confluence with the participation of foreign artists.
