Anti-government protests have turned violent in Kenya. Anti-government protesters staged massive demonstrations against the new finance bill passed by the country's parliament. Protesters protesting violently against the new tax bill entered the country's parliament complex on Tuesday and set fire to parts of the building.
Kenyan police and security forces had to use force to suppress the violent protesters and security forces have so far killed a total of 10 people, while more than 50 people are reported injured. According to paramedics, at least 10 people were shot dead and more than 50 were injured. This loss of life occurred in police action when protesters clashed with the police. Police used firing as well as water cannon and tear gas to control the rioters.
Two people were killed in anti-government protests last week. The third phase of protests began when MPs were to vote on a bill proposing to impose new taxes on citizens.
