Sararam: 10 children drowned in the river in Rohtas and Katihar districts of Bihar. One child is missing in Rohtas and one has been rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team. According to District Magistrate Udita Singh, six children have drowned in the Son river in Rohtas. According to Singh, according to the villagers, eight children of Tumba village had fallen into the Son river while taking bath. He said that police officials and a team of SDRF have started the search operation. SDRF team found six bodies. While one child is still missing. A child has been rescued alive and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. The age of all the children is between 10 to 12 years. On the other hand, four children drowned in a pond in Katihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
