Bhagalpur, July 15 (HS). Four accused have been arrested in the case of rape of a minor on July 13 at the airport ground located in the Tilkamanjhi police station area of the district. City SP Shriraj gave information to this effect on Monday.
City SP told that a complaint was lodged with Tilkamanjhi police station regarding the rape of a minor girl by some unknown boys in the airport ground and the case of assaulting the victim's friend and snatching his mobile. The statement of the victim was recorded in front of the lady police station in-charge and the lady officer of Tilkamanjhi police station and it was videographed. Thereafter, a medical examination was conducted as per rules. During interrogation of the victim, it was told that the incident took place between 07:00 pm and 09:00 pm on 11th July.
On the basis of the written application of the victim's father, an FIR was registered under relevant sections and investigation was started. In the said case, an SIT was formed under the direction of Anand Kumar Senior Superintendent of Police, under the leadership of Shriraj Superintendent of Police, City Surveillance and Ajay Kumar Chaudhary Deputy Superintendent of Police City. The said SIT inspected the crime scene along with the FSL team and the DIU team. The said SIT and DIU team, through technical research and human sources, successfully solved the case within 36 hours of the registration of the incident and arrested 04 accused and duly seized the towel, clothes etc. used in the incident.
The arrested accused have accepted their involvement in the incident. The arrested accused are being sent to judicial custody and further legal action is being taken.
