Expressing his gratitude, Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the approval of the 6-lane Greenfield Elevated Corridor project between National Highway-19 (NH-19) and Varanasi Ring Road at a cost of ₹ 14,447.64 crore by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will prove to be a historic and milestone in the direction of development of Purvanchal, especially Kashi. The construction of this approximately 46.039 km long 6-lane Greenfield Elevated Corridor will ensure fast, safe and uninterrupted traffic between National Highway-19 and Varanasi Ring Road. Its construction will provide great relief to the common citizens, businessmen, tourists and devotees from the long traffic jams within the city and the travel time will also be significantly reduced. The Deputy Chief Minister said that state-of-the-art engineering technologies will be used in this ambitious project. Under this, cable-stayed bridge, extruded foot over bridge, ramp, loop, service road and other modern structures will be constructed, which will further strengthen the connectivity of the entire Varanasi metropolis including the Ganga coastal areas. Shri Maurya said that this project will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model, so that the construction work can be completed with quality and timeliness. He expressed confidence that this project will make the traffic system in Varanasi more streamlined, reduce pollution and fuel consumption and will provide extensive benefits to trade, industry, tourism and the local economy.
