You will not contest MCD Mayor in Delhi! Today’s last day of nomination, new mayor will be selected on April 25


The Aam Aadmi Party has decided not to contest the upcoming mayor elections in Delhi. Elections are to be held on April 25 and today is the last day to file nomination. The Aam Aadmi Party has announced that it will not field any candidate for the post of Mayor, as the party currently lacks number force in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. While the Bharatiya Janata Party has a majority.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said during a press conference, ‘This time we will not contest the election of MCD Mayor. Now the BJP should form its triple engine government and fulfill its promises to the people of Delhi without any excuse. AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj said that we have decided that this time we will not field Aam Aadmi Party candidates in the Mayor election. He said that BJP should choose its mayor, BJP should form its own standing committee and rule Delhi without any excuse.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Virendra Sachdeva has declared Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh as mayor candidate and Jai Bhagwan Yadav as Deputy Mayor candidate for the MCD election. After the mayor is the most powerful standing committee, which may also be the chairman of them.
