Varanasi, July 22 (HS). While giving instructions to the officials, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that better facilities should be provided to the devotees of Baba Vishwanath who come to Kashi during the month of Shravan. They should not face any problem under any circumstances. Along with cleanliness, lighting should be ensured in the entire city including the major Shiva temples. The Chief Minister, who came to the city on a one-day visit on Monday, was reviewing the development works at the Circuit House. He also directed the officials of the implementing agency to complete the ongoing projects with quality as per the standards by running a campaign on a war footing.
While reviewing the projects under construction in the district, the Chief Minister asked to start the construction work of the medical college at the earliest. When the progress in the construction work of 200 bed barracks in Ramnagar PAC was not satisfactory, he fixed the responsibility of the concerned and directed to expedite the work. He also directed to complete the pending works of the rural drinking water scheme soon and said that there are complaints of roads not being repaired after laying pipes in it. Along with fixing the responsibility of such concerned contractors, repair of 100% of the roads where such cutting has been done should be ensured. He asked to ensure the expected progress in the International Cricket Stadium under construction in Ganjari. Giving strict instructions, he said that there should not be sewer overflow anywhere in the city and if any complaint is received about it anywhere, then immediate solution should be ensured.
He said that the officers should work with full sensitivity. On the complaint of some employees of the Electricity Department not picking up the phone, he directed to identify such JE, AE, SDO and take strict action against them. He said that Varanasi is also the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Modi, under his guidance, development works worth about Rs 40 thousand crore have been done so far and various development projects worth about Rs 12 thousand crore are under construction. He also directed to keep the security system strong in view of women safety, traffic and tourism. Special emphasis was laid on the Development Authority and Municipal Corporation to improve their image by improving their work culture. The Chief Minister directed the Electricity Department to ensure complete arrangements for electrical safety in view of the Kavad Yatra and devotees. In the meeting, while reviewing the progress of Ring Road Phase 2, widening and beautification of major roads, under-construction railway overbridges, buildings and other projects, he directed the concerned to bring the required speed.
Review of preparations for Sawan Mela in Varanasi
The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the Sawan Mela in Kashi. During this, the Divisional Commissioner informed that this year 4 new routes have been added along with a total of 6 gates in the Kashi Vishwanath temple for easy darshan of the devotees. He informed that zig-zag barricading, proper arrangements for cleanliness, security, CCTV, fire fighting, drinking water, toilets etc. have been arranged to control the crowd. The Chief Minister took information about other temples in Kashi from District Magistrate S. Rajlingam. The Chief Minister also directed to make proper arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, toilets, security in the temples falling on the Panchkoshi Parikrama route.
