Chittorgarh, August 12 (HS). Rawatbhata police station of the district has taken major action against illegal drug smuggling in Rawatbhata police station area. Police has seized a truck with 27 quintals and 800 grams of illegal doda chura. The cost of the seized doda chura is more than four crores. Police has registered a case under the NDPS Act and started searching for the accused.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi said that Rawatbhata police station in-charge Raisal Singh and the police team were taking action under the local and special act. Meanwhile, information was received that a truck is coming from Ekligpura towards Rawatbhata, which may contain illegal drugs. On this, the team reached Thamlav village and blocked the road. Here a truck driver, seeing the police, left the truck on the side of the road and ran away. He was chased by the police squad but he fled due to the populated area and rainy season. When the police searched, a total of 135 black plastic bags filled with doda chura were found inside the truck. Its weight was found to be 27 quintals 800 grams, which is worth more than four crore rupees. The said doda chura and the truck were seized and a case was registered at Rawatbhata police station under the NDPS Act and further investigation is going on.
