Kisan Sabha along with various farmer organizations are becoming aggressive against this. Because at present the price of milk is Rs 25. Due to this the farmers have become aggressive. Therefore, the government should take immediate cognizance of this and provide relief to the milk producers otherwise Kisan Sabha leader Dr. Dr. Ajit Navale gave this statement.
Dairy Development Minister Vikhe Patal had announced the minimum price of milk as Rs 34
Milk farmers are really shocked due to the continuous fall in milk prices. In view of the milk agitation, Milk Development Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil had announced that the price of milk would be at least Rs 34. Ajit Navale said that in fact the price of milk today is only Rs 25. The government has also stopped the milk subsidy started due to the agitation. This has caused great dissatisfaction among milk producing farmers. Kisan Sabha and Dairy Producer Kisan Sangharsh Samiti have warned that the state government should immediately take cognizance of this dissatisfaction and give relief to the milk producers, otherwise they will have to agitate again.
Minimum subsidy of Rs 10 per liter should be given
As a result of the agitation of milk producers, the state government had announced a subsidy of Rs 5 per liter on milk. However, this subsidy was given only for 6 weeks i.e. only for 2 months. Looking at the price of milk today, the increasing losses of milk producers and the increasing cost of production, this subsidy should be restarted, the subsidy amount should be increased to at least Rs 10 per liter. Also, in the background of the agitation, the subsidy was given only from January 11 to March 10. The subsidy is stopped for the next four months. Kisan Sabha and Milk Producer Kisan Sangharsh Samiti have demanded that the outstanding subsidy along with the subsidy of the closed season should be transferred to the farmers' account immediately.
Increase in the price of fodder, shortage of fodder
The prices of animal feed are constantly increasing in the state. In view of the drought, there is a huge shortage of fodder in the state. Due to the increase in medicine and ancillary costs, the cost of milk production has become beyond tolerance. However, the state government and the state's dairy development minister still do not seem to come out of the election environment. Ajit Navale said that in such a background, milk producers will have no option other than a strong agitation.
