Water supply could not be started in 11 Gram Panchayats, remove deficiencies on priority basis

Mirzapur, 02 July (HS). Under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply, Devendra Pratap Singh, the drinking water supply system was reviewed in the Vikas Bhavan auditorium on Tuesday under the Jal Jeevan Mission program in the development block Pahadi.

During the review, it was found that in four Gram Panchayats, 80 to 90 percent of the houses are getting water supply. In the remaining Gram Panchayats, 40 to 60 percent of the houses are getting water supply. In some villages, complaints were received about pipe line choking, leakage, pipe line damage by other implementing agencies and road restoration, which the implementing firm was directed to fix immediately. At the same time, water supply could not be started in 11 Gram Panchayats. In this regard, the implementing agency informed that the work of pipe line testing and commissioning is in progress in these villages. Apart from this, in some villages, progress is hampered due to site dispute and pipe line damage by other implementing agencies.

The Additional District Magistrate directed the officials of the implementing agency as well as consultancy agency PMC, TPI and Jal Nigam to conduct a site inspection and remove all the deficiencies on priority basis so that clean drinking water can be made available to the general public.

During this period, the village head and representatives of 37 gram panchayats and 10 village development officers and secretaries, assistant development officers (panchayat), block development officers, hill and project managers of implementing agencies were present with their teams.
