“Was your apology as big as the size of your advertisements”: Supreme Court rebukes Baba Ramdev

Baba Ramdev Patanjali Misleading Case: The Supreme Court has taken strict action against Baba Ramdev and Balakrishna in the contempt of court case against Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved, Baba Ramdev and disciple Balakrishna for making misleading advertisements.

The Supreme Court has once again ordered Patanjali Ayurveda to publish a large apology letter in newspapers during the hearing. Ramdev and Balkrishna have also been ordered to appear in the court on 30 April.

Supreme Court gave a shock

Ramdev's lawyer Mukul Rohatgi argued in the court that we have already filed an apology. On which Justice Hima Kohli asked why it was presented yesterday, now we will not be able to see the bundles presented. You should have submitted earlier. When Rohatgi was asked where Justice Amanullah's apology was published, he said, it was published in 67 newspapers. On which Rs. 10 lakh rupees were spent. Later, when Kohli asked whether he had published an apology on the size of his misleading advertisements, Rohatgi said, no.

Health Ministry also took charge

Holding the Health Ministry hostage for amending the rules to deal with misleading advertisements, the Supreme Court said, 'Now you want to withdraw Rule 170.' If this is your decision, what action have you taken on it? This rule prohibits advertisement of Ayurvedic, Unani medicines without the approval of the State Licensing Authority. The Supreme Court asked the ministry whether they have the power to appeal if they do not follow the existing rules, whether they are more concerned about tax matters than publishing advertisements.
