This is not only a Jyotirlinga but also a Shaktipeeth. It is believed that a part of the body of Mata Sati fell here. It is also believed that Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati were married at this place. It is said about this Dham that the wishes of all the devotees coming here are fulfilled. This is the reason why the Jyotirlinga installed in the temple here is also known as Kamana Linga.
