Visa free entry for Indians till 11 November

Tourists from India and Taiwan will be able to enter Thailand without a visa until November 11 after the current exemption expires on Friday, Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin told reporters after a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Under the rules, travelers can stay only for a maximum of 30 days at a time.

After the success of the exemption given in November last year, the decision to waive visa fees again has been taken. Indian and Taiwanese tourists can generally stay in Thailand for up to 15 days under visa-on-arrival. Whereas if you apply online in advance then you can stay for 30 days.

It is notable that tourism-dependent Thailand is relaxing visa rules for travelers from some of its main markets, including China and Russia. More than 12 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Thailand during the first four months of 2024, up 39 percent from the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
