US President Joe Biden officially handed over the leadership of the Democratic Party to Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday night. Describing Kamala as the most suitable person to protect democracy, he said that she would prove to be a 'historic president'. When Biden arrived at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, thousands of leaders and activists present there welcomed him with thunderous applause. During the convention, Kamala will officially accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination on Thursday. She will face Republican candidate Donald Trump in the presidential election proposed on November 5.
