UPSC Result 2023: In a new record, 25 students from Gujarat appeared for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam this year, and eight of them are from the Patidar community, and are enrolled in various programs offered by Sardardham in Ahmedabad.
Sardardham, based in Ahmedabad, works as a charitable trust that conducts various activities for the community, including training Patidar youth to excel in UPSC, Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) and defense services. Gagjibhai Sutaria, President of Sardardham Vishwa Patidar Samaj, said that this is the first time that eight candidates from Sardardham have passed UPSC. He informed that this year a total of 54 candidates have passed the preliminary examination and 13 have passed the main examination.
It is learned that, a total of 3,500 candidates have been selected for various public services since 2021. The institute provides free training and study facilities, wherein candidates only have to bear the expenses of accommodation and food.
The Ahmedabad facility has an e-library with a capacity of 1,000 students, four hi-tech classrooms accommodating 100 students each, discussion rooms and interview rooms suited to the environment of UPSC and GPSC examinations.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel congratulated all the 25 candidates from the state who qualified the UPSC exam and wished them a bright future.
All successful candidates received coaching from the UPSC Study Center at Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) in Ahmedabad.
Mohammed Shahid, Director General of SPIPA, commented that, with 25 candidates, this year saw the highest number of selections ever in the history of SPIPA. Three of them are likely to get placed in IAS (Indian Administrative Service), two in IPS (Indian Police Service) and perhaps other prestigious services.
