New Delhi : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the government will give subsidy of up to 8 percent on interest to the artisans taking loans under PM Vishwakarma Yojana. This will provide great relief to the artisans taking direct loans. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Vishwakarma Yojana for artisans on Sunday. The government has started this scheme with a budget of Rs 13,000 crore. This was announced in the budget for the financial year 2023-24.
Loan will be available at 5 percent interest
Giving information about Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under this scheme, the government will provide loans up to Rs 3 lakh to artisans at a concessional interest rate of 5 percent. Under this scheme, the initial loan will be given at Rs 1 lakh and as soon as the loan is repaid by the beneficiary, an additional Rs 2 lakh will be given to him.
People involved in 18 activities including carpenters, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, masons, stone sculptors, barbers and boat makers will benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.

The scheme will also provide financial assistance as well as advanced skill training, knowledge of modern digital technology, digital payments, linkages with global and domestic markets and brand promotion.
Training will be given under skills
Under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, 5-day training will be given and during this training, Rs 500 will be paid per day. Apart from this, a grant of Rs 15,000 will be given as toolkit incentive.
