Ukraine war: India makes intense efforts to bring peace as West fails | News India

New Delhi: Ukraine does not want to stop the war. Russia sent drones over two NATO countries in a single day yesterday (8th). The President of Batavia said that a (Russian) drone had crashed on its territory, while Romania said that a (Russian) drone had also entered its airspace. Russian forces are now advancing in the Kurdish region as well. Russia has occupied the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine. Russia has occupied Crimea since 2014. The fighting is getting intense.

It seems that while the West is failing to help Ukraine, India has started making intense efforts to bring peace. After Modi's Moscow visit, now India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is going to visit Moscow.

The speculation is also not wrong that after the Moscow visit, Doval may also reach Kiev and Zelensky may swallow the proposal put forward to Putin.

Putin's main proposal is that Ukraine should firstly withdraw all its troops from Russia's Kursk region and secondly, withdraw all Russian-speaking citizens living in eastern and northeastern Ukraine. Therefore that area should be handed over to Russia. This area is part of the Donbass region, which Russia claims as its own.

Zelensky is standing here. He is not ready to give even a sliver of land. It is also being speculated that Doval may be able to convince Zelensky not to be too aggressive. Otherwise a world war will break out.

After the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit, Doval is scheduled to visit Moscow on September 10-11. At that time he will (1) signal India's readiness to mediate in peace talks in the Russia-Ukraine war. For this India is waiting for a message to be sent by Russia and Ukraine, he is also going to tell this to Putin. (2) Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Mavoni also said that India and China should make efforts to establish peace in Ukraine.

Observers say Ukraine may not accept Chinese mediation as Xi Jinping openly supports Putin. Hence, it is more likely that Zelensky will find India's proposal for peace talks acceptable.
