When was Ujjwala scheme started?
The Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in 2016. Under this scheme, free gas cylinders are provided to women. In which cylinder and gas stove are available free of cost. Not only this, if you get the cylinder refilled after this, subsidy is also provided by the government.

Women eligible for the scheme can apply for the scheme by visiting the nearest government agency of their area. Along with this, they can also apply online for Ujjwala scheme by visiting the nearest CSC centre.
Which state will get free gas?
Before Diwali, the government has arranged for free cylinders as gifts for women. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced to provide free cylinders to women beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme. According to the announcement made by the government, all women will be given free cylinders before Diwali.
