Two trucks turned into fireballs in Hamirpur, two people including the driver burnt alive

Hamirpur, July 19 (HS). Two trucks caught fire after colliding in the district. Two people including the driver of a dumper truck were burnt alive in the flames. Two other people were scorched. On receiving the information of the accident, police and fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. Police somehow took out the bodies of both and sent them for postmortem. The people scorched by the fire have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Both the trucks started burning in flames after the collision at around 1 am near Rath trisection of Kanpur-Sagar National Highway across Betwa Bridge in Sadar Kotwali area. The fire was so terrible that it became difficult for the drivers and other people in the trucks to come out. On receiving the information, Kotwali police and ambulance reached the spot. Five fire brigade vehicles were deployed to extinguish the fire. Police conducted rescue operation with the help of fire brigade personnel. The bodies of two people including the driver who were burnt in the cabin have been sent for post-mortem. One of the deceased has been identified as Neeraj Gupta, resident of Irtra Ghatampur Kanpur Nagar, while the other body could not be identified yet. Neeraj Gupta was the driver of the dumper truck.

In the accident, Shiv Vardani, son of Shivnath Kushwaha, resident of Itra Ghatampur Kanpur and Neeraj Pandey, son of Ramkishore Pandey, resident of Bidhanu Kanpur were admitted to Sadar Hospital by the police in critical condition, where the doctors referred the injured to Kanpur.

After the accident there was a jam on both sides of the highway

Due to both the trucks turning into a ball of fire near Rath trisection across the Betwa bridge, there was a jam on both sides of the highway. With the help of the police, the fire brigade personnel extinguished the fire of both the trucks burning on the highway, but before that two people including the driver were burnt alive. CO Sadar Rajesh Kamal told on Friday morning that a fire broke out after a collision between the two trucks, in which two people died. Two other people were seriously burnt, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Traffic has been made normal by removing both the trucks from the highway road.
