Varanasi, 06 August (HS). Two houses collapsed near Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh early this morning. These houses are said to be about 70 years old. Some people are feared to be trapped under the debris. This accident happened at Khoya Gali intersection of Varanasi.
Administrative officials of Varanasi and the NDRF team are on the spot. Relief and rescue operations have been started. To avoid any hindrance in this, gate number four leading to Kashi Vishwanath temple has been closed for the time being. Devotees going to the temple are being allowed entry from gate number one and two.
During the relief and rescue operation, four people have been pulled out from the debris. All four have suffered serious injuries. All of them have been sent to the trauma center. It is feared that many people are still buried under the debris. The relief and rescue operation is currently underway.
