Due to the good advocacy of the police team of Sajethi police station, the special court of POCSO Act convicted two accused of rape and POCSO Act case and sentenced them to rigorous life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 50 each. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ravindra Kumar Singh on Thursday.
He told that the accused sentenced to life imprisonment are Mohit alias Bade son of Bhola Diwakar, resident of Kaitha village of Sajethi police station area and neighbor Pankaj son of Shivnath Diwakar. A case was registered against both of them in Sajethi police station in the year 2021 under section 376 DA and 328 Indian Penal Code and 5/6 POCSO Act. Due to the good advocacy of the Sajethi police team, on July 30, 2024, after the conviction against both, the Special Judge POCSO Act of Kanpur city sentenced both of them to rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50-50 thousand.
He said that a campaign is being run under Operation Convention to punish criminals. If criminals are afraid of punishment, they will refrain from committing crimes and faith in police and court will be created in the society.
