Former President Donald Trump appeared confident at a rally following the first presidential debate on Friday. He mocked President Joe Biden's repeated rhetoric during the debate and said Democrats have no better alternative. He called the Democratic president the “worst president” in American history.
Trump and Biden held rallies
After Thursday night's debate, Trump and his Democratic rival, Biden, held their own rallies. Biden held a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina. The former president made the announcement at a rally in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Friday.
Biden's performance is extremely disappointing
Biden's performance in the presidential debates was considered quite disappointing. This debate caused concern among his allies and other Democrats. The effect of age on the President was evident; due to this some people feared that someone else could be made the candidate in place of Biden.
Trump targeted Biden
“Today, every voter must ask themselves not just whether Joe Biden can survive a 90-minute debate, but whether America can endure four more years of 'Crooked' Joe in the White House,” Trump said at the rally.
Kamala Harris and others targeted
Trump said he 'really doesn't believe' that the Democratic National Committee could get Biden out of the race. He then targeted other high-profile Democrats like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Vice President Kamala Harris and former First Lady Michelle Obama. Criticising Kamala Harris, Trump said, 'Making her (Harris) Vice President could be the best decision Joe Biden made.' He said that Harris can never fire her boss because she is so unpopular.
