During interrogation, it was revealed that the incident took place on September 17 in the flat of Abdul Haleem, resident of A Block. By breaking the lock of the flat, they stole goods worth lakhs including a laptop, six watches and jewellery. The incident was carried out at Farah's house on 19 September. They broke the lock of his house in broad daylight and stole Rs 50,000 in cash, gold locket, watch, chain and other items.
Apart from this, recently an incident was carried out by breaking the lock of Ashish Dwivedi's house in Gomti Greens MR Housing Society. 50 thousand rupees in cash, a diamond ring and jewelery worth lakhs were taken away. He was captured in CC footage at many places. Based on the footage, the accused was arrested near Shaheedpath Palacio Mall underpass. A mobile phone, MacBook, three watches and other jewelery have been recovered from the accused.
ACP said that the law student targeted three houses in the colony in a week. During the theft on September 24, his photo was captured in a secret camera installed in the house. When he tried to break the lock of the house, an alarm went off on the owner's mobile phone. On the information of the landlord, the police arrested him on the basis of CCTV footage.
Trying to fulfill girlfriend's demands
ACP Gosaiganj told that the accused Ravi Gupta is a resident of Maharajganj Deuva. Ravi MR is studying law while staying in Gomti Greens. The accused told during interrogation that his father works as a labourer. The financial condition of the house is not good. The girlfriend had some demands. He could not complete it.
During interrogation, Ravi told that he saw that some people live alone in the flat. He stays in the flat for a long time after going to work. He did Reiki for 2 to 3 days. After this he committed theft in three flats. ACP said that a mobile phone, laptop, three gold chains, Rs 15,000 and other items have been recovered from the accused.
Investigation after theft incident
ACP said that after the theft incident, three teams were deployed to search for the accused. Many suspects, including guards and servants, were interrogated. No one was suspected of theft. When Avanti was interrogated, some people raised doubts on Ravi. The surveillance team extracted details of active mobile numbers around the incident site. A suspicious number was found which belonged to a student. When the police interrogated him strictly on the basis of suspicion, he confessed to his crime.
