West Bengal Train Accident: A major train accident has taken place in New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. A freight train hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express from behind. According to the guidelines issued by IRCTC regarding this insurance coverage, if an accident occurs during the journey and the passenger is injured, there is a provision of a cover of Rs 2 lakh on hospitalization due to injury. Apart from this, there is a provision of a cover of Rs 7.5 lakh for permanent partial disability. If a passenger dies in an accident, his family is given a cover of Rs 10 lakh and in case of permanent complete disability, a cover of Rs 10 lakh is given.
